This class is designed for beginning to advanced painters who want to learn the ins and outs of this fascinating medium acrylics and students who want to learn how to loosen up and paint more abstractly. We will be experimenting with a variety of techniques that are somewhat unique to this medium; including pouring, textured work, using acrylics with collage successfully, layering and glazing and others. This class will also be designed for oil painters who want to make the switch to the safer acrylic medium, learning how to blend and create soft edges making your acrylics look like oils.

All students who have taken this class previously have wanted to "loosen up", so there will be strong emphasis on learning to the skills to do that.

Class will consist of weekly demonstrations with student exercises and experimentation and there will be emphasis on color theory and good design

Be prepared to have fun, find some freedom from all those rules and find some new ways to express yourself.
